New Video Plugin: Upload & Embed Videos on Your WordPress Site

We have just released a big update of our WordPress plugin!

At SYNQ we are big fans of WordPress, which is why we decided to build our own website on WordPress. It makes it easy for management and other non-developers to make quick changes or add new content to the site. We did miss something though - better support for adding video content.

If you have ever tried adding video content to your WordPress site, you'll know about some of the limitations involved; file size (and type) limitations, no video optimization (transcoding), no content delivery network and that it will consume your host server space and bandwidth. So we decided to fix all this by building a WordPress video plugin based on our video API.

The new version of SYNQ Video is a complete refactor of the old version and includes everything you need to upload and embed videos in your posts or pages. Here are some of the features:

  • Responsive HTML5 Video player
  • No limits on upload file size
  • Embed videos anywhere on WordPress with shortcodes
  • Customize the colors of the player to match your brand
  • Monetize on your videos with ads using your VAST/VPAID tag
  • Video storage, transcoding and content delivery (Multi-CDN) is included

The plugin comes with a responsive HTML5 video player that will play your videos flawlessly on any type of device or browser.  No need to worry about file sizes, as the videos you upload will not consume any space on your WordPress host server.

Each uploaded video will have its own shortcode which can be used anywhere on your site, even in widgets!
